Caddie's Summary: When it comes
to South Carolina golf courses and South Carolina resorts, Barefoot resides at the top of
the list. Four courses by renowned designers (Love, Norman, Fazio and Dye) are all among
the best public golf courses in the state. The Dye Club is located less than a mile from
the Norman, Love and Fazio courses. It is beautifully designed with a great deal of
earth moved to complete this golf course. Pete Dye places his famed sculpted fairways
and challenging approach shots to this layout. Tee shots have numerous deep bunkers
littering the landing areas, and fairway edges have large mounds or ledges that can
create some very difficult lies. Approaches are often to fast, angled greens that are
well protected with ledges, bunkers, water or thick bermuda rough. A great golf course,
and a warm atmosphere awaits all golfers at the Dye Club. |
