Caddie's Summary: Bryan Park is a very unique Rees Jones layout. The front nine shows all the characteristics of his influence, with large, flat and often round bunkers that line fairways and impede run-ups to the greens. The green surfaces are only slightly undulating but guarded. The back nine, however, is a jewel. Placed in a beautiful setting and lined with lake views and coves, water becomes the dominating hazard and contributes mostly to the golf course layout. We will be returning in the Spring of 2006 to finish the photo shoot of the course (as bad weather hampered our efforts and we were unable to capture the amazing looks of the back nine holes). The entire Champions golf course provides opportunities for low scores if you can keep the drives in play. Approach shots are all very fair and the greens roll true. The back nine sees more rolling hills and many tight tees to doglegged fairways. Bryan Park is open to the public and can get quite busy, especially until the other (Players Course) has finished its renovations. Both scenic and fun to play, we hope this Rees Jones course remains in the top 25 of North Carolina golf courses. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
