Caddie's Summary: Gibson Bay is a great bang for the buck. At $22 with cart on the weekdays, this has to be one of the best deals in Kentucky. Owned by The City of Richmond, the course is well maintained and only a few extra unrepaired ball marks make it an apparent as a public facility. Most notable are the undulating hills that create many blind tee shots. The tips are set back to 7113yds (Whites are only 6508yds) and offer a completely different course - forcing the golfer to play long irons into many of the holes. The greens are rolling very well and the fairways are normally in a manicured state. Tee shots often provide the chance to grip and rip, with approaches being to greens with lakes, creeks and bunkers hindering your shot on about half of the holes. If in or traveling through Richmond, Gibson Bay is the public place to play. It offers a bit of freedom for the average golfer but also provides a challenge to the low-handicapper from the Blue tees.
