Caddie's Summary: The Fort has a mature and natural surrounding that adds to the visual appeal as you track around one of the state's more strategic courses. Tight drives requiring precision and a golfer's ability to work the ball dominate the course. Sand bunkers are well placed to come into play for short and long hitters alike. A hilly terrain forces players to think of club selection and best positioning for approach shots. Bent greens and fairways are well-conditioned and among the best Indiana has to offer in both public and private courses. The greens at The Fort are normally kept hard and fast and, in most cases, angled to make approach shots more challenging. With the mature landscape, this is a highly recommended site for both summer and fall golf, when the trees make the scenery livid with color. The clubhouse, restaurant and resort are also advisable, and offer a popular location for weddings and special occasions.
