Caddie's Summary: Lake Jovita may be
one of hte best stay and play packages in Florida. The South Course is the oldest of the
two and both North and South Courses are designed by Lehman and Sandness. EGC loves the
North Course. It is by no means a boring golf course. Most importantly, play the right
tees. The tips are for low handicappers and bring all of the fairway bunkers into play
and can create tight landing areas and longer approaches to complex greens. Blue and
White tees allow longer hitters to remove some of the threat of these bunkers and play a
bit easier. Fairway roughs have plenty of room for golfers to spray the tee shots a bit
and makes for a great course for the mid-handicap golfer. But shooting low scores is
tough. The fast, hard greens react perfectly and pin placements can make or break a
hole. Most of the greens are about 35-40 yards deep and angled, also making the golfer
think about positioning for approach shots and club selection based on pin placement.
Scenically, the course has a few holes with homes around but also is well spread over
plenty of acreage. Stay and play packages are available and the villas (check out the
villas) may be the very best in Florida. You may want to hurry, rumor has it
that Lake Jovita is going Private soon. |
