Caddie's Summary: A Hampton Golf
Club Facility, Matanzas Woods is a part of the Grand Club (includes
Pine Lakes,
Cypress
Knoll and
Matanzas Woods). Matanzas is a Palmer design and
will be renovated this year. The course has a nice layout and the updates to the greens
and drainage systems will bring this course back to its prime. The golf course has a
natural draw that includes a three-legged alligator on the 14th and countless birds,
rabbits and other wildlife. Once the greens are enlarged and bunkers renovated, this
will be a great golf course. Cypress Knoll is currently under renovation and the three
courses will, in our opinion, climb back up to the top-rated courses in Florida within a
couple of years. Matanzas meanders through some mature landscapes and along a small
river. |
