Caddie's Summary:. A change of pace for Doral and
all of Florida, the Great White course is a captured desert image from Nevada brought
right to Doral for everyone's enjoyment. All of the fairways are lined with conquina
sand (a heavy limestone and shell mixture) and causes trouble for all not acquainted.
The course was the host of the Shark Shootout PGA tournament and definitely has the
natural beauty and challenge required. Unique in its field, the course offers a
beautiful scenery of water, palms and sand. Pot bunkers are strategically placed in most
of the fairways and their steep faces are a burden. Ball placement is key, and with many
of the approach shots being blind over mounds, course knowledge also goes a long way. If
in Southern Florida, this is an awesome change of pace and a magnificent course. |
